Grants

Each year the Foundation has one grant cycle.  Back to School teaching grants are designed to bring resources into our classrooms in areas that range from technology to literacy.

2008-2009 Back to School Grant Deadline is September 18, 2008

2007-2008 Final Report due by December 12, 2008

Please note that applications must be completed in the attached word document (saved to your computer) and are limited to the format and amount of space provided on the grant application.

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

• Any certified district employee may apply for a grant.  (principals, teachers, nurses, counselors, etc.)

• There is no minimum or maximum dollar amount for grant requests.

• Grants may not be written for food items, stipends, salaries, costs of substitute teachers or capital improvements.

• Grants involving more than one school must first be submitted to the SPS Grant s Office for approval from district administrators.

• The Foundation will confirm the receipt of grants sent through school mail by sending an e-mail within 24 hours.  It is the grant writer's responsibility to notify the Foundation if a confirmation e-mail is not received.

• Hand-delivered grants will be verbally acknowledged at the time of receipt.
